MFL – Our content, aims and concepts

Spanish at Newtown

Our aim is to provide a modern foreign language experience that promotes an interest in another country and culture. We are currently studying Spanish in Years 3-6. We follow the Primary Languages Network to support our teaching. This programme immerses the children in opportunities to hear and read Spanish in context. We concentrate on listening, speaking, reading and writing activities to give the children a breadth of knowledge by the end of KS2. PLN has also developed its own progression which aligns very effectively with our 3 concepts in languages.
