Issy Townsend

My name is Issy Townsend, and I am delighted to be teaching Falcons. I completed a BSc in Psychology and a PGCE at the University of Exeter. During my time at university, I developed a real love for the Exeter area and am so pleased to continue being part of the wonderful community at Newtown.

As I prepare to begin my third year at Newtown, I feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and welcoming school. One of the things I value most is the strong sense of community, and I enjoy building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues alike.

Since qualifying as a teacher, I have been passionate about creating a classroom environment where children feel inspired to be creative, confident, and enthusiastic learners. It is a privilege to support the children as they grow in character, independence, and resilience, and to be part of their learning journey as they progress through the school.

I have a love for the humanities and a passion for music! I hope to bring this passion into the classroom and the school. Outside of the classroom, I love exploring the Devon coast and countryside and getting stuck into a good book.
