I have been teaching at Newtown for over 10 years, having previously worked in a number of schools across Exeter and London. From my very first visit, I knew Newtown was a special place. Its strong sense of diversity, inclusivity, history and togetherness creates a unique atmosphere that makes it feel truly at the heart of the local community. I am proud to be part of such a dedicated team and enjoy supporting colleagues, pupils and families to help our school thrive.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with most of my experience being in Year 6. I particularly enjoy helping children develop the independence, resilience and character they need as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. I am passionate about nurturing lifelong learners, ensuring that every child leaves primary school with the confidence, skills and positive attitude needed for the next stage of their educational journey.

As Assistant Headteacher, I work closely with staff across the school to maximise learning opportunities while supporting pupils' wellbeing. I am committed to continually improving teaching and learning through collaboration and innovation, particularly through our ACE curriculum. Having recently trained as a Maths Mastery Specialist, I also support other schools, lead professional development and demonstrate lessons to help share effective practice. Working alongside colleagues to enhance outcomes for children is a part of my role that I find especially rewarding.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my two children, taking long walks with my dog and attending dance classes. I have also recently discovered a love of jigsaw puzzles, and there is usually a 1,000-piece puzzle waiting for me to complete at home!
